Terms and Conditions for enrolment of your child at Leeds Arabic School
These are the terms and conditions between the parent or legal guardian of the child (“you” or “your”), and Leeds Arabic School which govern the enrolment and attendance of your child at the school.
Leeds Arabic School (LAS)Terms and Timings
LAS will operate three (3) terms per year and will follow the academic calendar.
Each term will be ten (10) weeks and the start date will be notified in advance to parents.
On each Sunday during term-time, LAS will have the following operating hours:
between 10.30am and 3.30pm
LAS Classes and Activities
LAS aims to provide a children’s school for the Arabic language using a professional and structured curriculum, clearly thought-out materials and resources.
LAS aims to provide a learning environment for children to learn the Arabic language regardless of their previous Arabic language ability.
Trial Period
You may enroll your child or children for one day as a trial. You will need to complete the registration form and pay £10 per child for the day
1 Application Process
To apply you must fill in an application form which can be downloaded from www.leedsarabicschool.com or is available on request. No payment is required at the time of application unless your child needs to be placed on the waiting list.
The registration process requires you to provide information about yourself and your child. This information shall be used for planning and administration purposes only and shall be held in accordance with LAS confidentiality policies.
1.1 You will be contacted if your application is successful. Payment is required on registration, i.e. fees should be paid in advance of your child’s commencement at LAS. Registration cannot be completed without payment.
1.2 Each application shall be considered on its own merits. LAS does not discriminate on the basis of gender, religion, ethnic origin, or nationality and is committed to providing quality Arabic education to children regardless of background.
1.3 If at the time of inquiry or registration there is no place for your child at school, you will be offered to place your child’s name on the waiting list. A deposit of( £10) is required, which is then subtracted from school fees when your child attends. Children on the waiting list that have siblings enrolled at LAS have priority. In the case where LAS has offered a place for your child and you turn down that offer, the deposit is non-refundable. If you wish to remove your child’s name from the waiting list before a place is offered, a full refund will be issued.
2 Attending Leeds Arabic School
2.1 There is no school uniform. However, please ensure that your child is dressed in suitable clothing for both classroom work and outdoor play.
2.2 You can provide your child with a suitable packed Lunch, alternatively, children can purchase a snack from our ‘tuck shop’. We encourage each child to bring their own water bottle, although water will be available at all times otherwise. Nuts (or items containing nuts) are not allowed on LAS premises.
2.3 You must speak with your child prior to them attending good behavior and respect for the property and staff. LAS reserves the right to suspend your child from attendance at LAS Arabic School if there is persistent, unreasonable or disruptive behavior.
2.4 If your child damages any school’s property despite advice from staff, you will be contacted and your child may not be allowed to continue at LAS. You may also be required to pay for the damage caused by your child.
2.5 Your child must be collected on time at 3.30pm. Please be prompt as staff cannot be employed outside their working hours to continue caring for children.Hence there will a charge of £2/5min delay.
3 Emergencies and Contact Information
3.1 In the registration form, you will be required to provide emergency contact numbers. If you cannot be contacted, then your nominated contact person will be contacted and according to need, may be asked to collect your child.
3.2 In the case of emergency, signing the registration form will give consent to LAS to provide your child with emergency action such as hospitalisation if required and/or emergency treatment, if you cannot be reasonably contacted.
4 Medical and Health Policies
4.1 There is always a ‘first-aider’ who will be able to attend to your child on the property in case of minor incidents.
4.2 An appropriate staffing ratio will be maintained at all times to care for your children.
4.3 Staff on duty will be caring staff who have sufficient training to look after children and have experience in teaching and child-centred environments.
4.4 If there is any emergency situation, the staff will respond swiftly and with reasonable care attend to your child and will call the emergency medical services when reasonably required.
4.5 In the case of allergy sufferers, parents/carers should be aware that LAS does not accept liability for any emergency situation arising due to allergic conditions such as an allergy to nuts, milk, or insect bites, or any other such allergies. Please note that LAS does not currently have facilities in place for equipment such as Epi-Pens.
4.6 It is your responsibility to inform LAS of any special conditions or allergies that affect your child and you agree that LAS may disclose any allergies or other medical information in an emergency situation.
5 Withdrawal of your child from LAS
5.1 Leeds Arabic School reserves the right to deny enrolment of your child, or to require its immediate withdrawal if:
5.1.1 there is insufficient space and the maximum enrolment for the relevant age group has already been reached at the time your registration form is received;
5.1.2 the fees are unpaid after two (2) written reminders;
5.1.3 your child is disruptive or poses a risk to the other children in the school, and reasonable efforts to resolving the situation have failed.
5.2 If your child withdraws or is required to withdraw then any (fees paid are non-refundable).

6 Absence
6.1 If your child is absent due to illness or for any other reason from Leeds Arabic School, no refund or credit for the fees can be given.
7 Liability
7.1 Leeds Arabic School shall not be liable for any loss, damages, expenses or costs incurred by you as a result of enrolling your child in LAS. Any liability shall be limited to the number of fees paid for the current term.
7.2 Nothing in these terms and conditions will limit or exclude any of the LAS statutorily required liabilities.
8 Confidentiality and Privacy
8.1 Leeds Arabic School keeps all records confidential and will only share them with other individuals, schools, or other organisations at your request or with your consent, or where required by law.
